ANCHORAGE, AK The Westin Alyeska Prince Hotel in Girdwood, AK is ending its five-year relationship with Westin and Starwood Hotels. The property franchise agreement, in effect since 1996, will not be renewed after it expires at the end of this month. The decision also applies to four Hawaii Prince Hotels and Resorts.

Chris von Imhof, Alyeska s vp/managing director, said that the hotels have not seen the production that was anticipated from the Westin name, and determined that the flag was not working to bring in the incremental business that was expected. (2/27/01)
