NORWALK, CT— Online travel company Priceline.com Inc. said it has launched a packaged vacation service that lets travelers build their trips, giving them more flexibility than other parts of the service. As part of the vacation service, travelers choose the hotel they want, how long they want to stay, the days of their trip and the price they want to pay for their vacation. Pricelines airline partners pick the flight times. This differs from much of the service where users do not have a choice in which hotel they end up staying in. The move comes after the company posted a first-quarter net profit earlier this month, largely driven by the strength in its hotel business which offset the slump in the air business.
