NORWALK, CT Last minute travelers can now get a hotel room from Priceline.com on the same day they intend to use it. Priceline.com customers can now make an offer for a hotel rooms as late as 6 p.m. EST and get a room for that night.
On its first day of operation, more than 200 hotels in the U.S. and Canada were participating in the same-day booking program. Approximately 50% of the participating hotels are three-star properties, while the majority of the remaining 50% are split between two-star and four-star properties. Availability in larger cities is usually greater than in outlying areas. (2/1/01)
