SPARTANBURG, SC— Robert Brannon, president/COO of Extended Stay America, is taking a leave of absence while recovering from a stroke, according to the extended-stay lodging company. “We are confident that Bob will resume his full duties and responsibilities with the company in the near future and we wish for, and expect, Bobs speedy recovery and look forward to his return,” said George Johnson Jr., Extended Stay Americas CEO. During Brannons absence, Johnson will serve as interim president/COO. He previously served as president of the company prior to Brannons appointment as president.
