NEW YORK Premier Hotels, the company that owns the UK franchise for both the Howard Johnson and the Days Inns brands, plans to extend its presence in Scotland over the next couple of years. The company has acquired a five-acre site at the Business Park of Glasgow Airport for approximately $3.7 million. Total construction and development costs of the 96-room Days Inn Hotel and the 114-room Howard Johnson Hotel are estimated at around $11.8 million. Further sites at Queenferry, Hamilton, Aberdeen and city-centre locations in Edinburgh and Glasgow have been earmarked for development. (2/2/01) SOURCE:HVS International
