Power Shortages Force Cutbacks

NEW YORK It has been reported that power shortages on the West Coast have forced some hotels to cut back on holiday decorations, heat and lights in order to save both energy and money. The Hilton San Francisco cut power usage by 30% by using fluorescent lights instead of incandescents in ballrooms and parking garages, reported the Wall Street Journal. According to the paper, this energy crisis may force hotels to raise prices. (12/26/00)
