WARSAW, POLAND—Over the next few years, 23 new hotels with 5,200 rooms will open their doors in Poland, according to a hotel market report published by TOPHOTELPROJECTS.
Poland’s market leader is the hotel chain Orbis, belonging to Accor, with 54 properties (10,610 rooms). Last year, Orbis opened six new hotels (775 rooms).
Hilton is currently developing three properties for its Doubletree by Hilton brand, two Hampton by Hilton hotels, one Hilton Garden Inn and a large Hilton Hotel in Poland. Hilton currently operates five hotels in Poland. In addition, Marriott is currently constructing a Courtyard by Marriott and a Renaissance Hotel. The Louvre Hotels Group is currently developing two Golden Tulip Hotels and Starwood Hotels is scheduled to open a Sheraton Resort.
According to the report, Poland is under-saturated in the budget and low budget segment; German budget design hotel chain Motel One is planning for a property in Warsaw with roughly 180 rooms, and is looking for a fitting location in Krakow.
