PALM BEACH GARDENS, FL— To attract additional business, the PGA National Resort and Spa here will begin a $4.1 million renovation of its champion golf course beginning April 1, with the course expected to be reopened in early December. This marks the first in a series of renovations planned for the golf courses at the Resort, which is owned by developer E. Llwyd and Diana Ecclestone. Nicklaus Design Co. and PGA National Golf Club general manager of golf operations, Scott Clark will oversee the course renovations and design alterations, which will include the installation of a state-of-the-art irrigation system, which will provide maintenance staff with the ability to irrigate at 96% efficiency while conserving water.
