LOS ANGELES—With deployment of its Mobile Key front-desk bypass solution well underway at hotels around the world, OpenWays has hired 30-year hospitality industry veteran and hotel technology advocate Peter Klebanoff as SVP, Business Development.

“Adding a marketplace leader of Peter’s caliber to the OpenWays team demonstrates our commitment to providing the highest quality service to hotels across the Americas,” stated OpenWays Founder and CEO Pascal Metivier. “Peter’s 20 years of experience in sales and business development, mostly related to implementing guest-facing technologies in hotels, combined with 10 years as a hotelier where he worked in front- and back-office operations, makes him the ideal person to lead this effort and stimulate further growth.”

Mobile Key by OpenWays’ technology enables travelers to use any of the 6.8 billion cell phones or smartphones worldwide as a mobile room key. Mobile Key by OpenWays securely delivers an encrypted Mobile Key “credential” to the right user anywhere in the world. Installation of the technology involves an upgrade to the hotel’s existing room locks to include an OpenWays decoding device. The solution works with multiple technologies including Bluetooth 4.0 (BLE), Near Field Communication (NFC), Radio Frequency Identification (RFID), and Crypto Acoustic Credential (CAC).
