HONOLULU, HI— Outrigger Hotels & Resorts re-introduced its condominium resort properties as “Outrigger’s Condominium Collection” this week with a comprehensive new marketing effort aimed at distinguishing them from the company’s other 40 hotels and resorts. Outrigger’s 10 upscale condo resorts are located in some of the most desirable locations throughout Hawaii and offer some unique services, according to the company. A new eight-page, four-color ad featuring the Outrigger Condominium Collection appeared in various trade publications this week, highlighting each property’s location, a photo and a list of amenities, services and features. In addition, a variety of cross promotions with radio stations, television, Internet, and wholesale partners will support the launch throughout the summer. According to T.J. Oesterling, vp of Outrigger’s Condominium Collection, the re-launch of the condos in a group format is expected to more accurately reflect the type of accommodations they offer as well as their “value proposition.” “We want to change the way travelers and travel agents think about Outrigger’s condominium resorts and the best way to do that is to create a unique identity specifically for the collection,” Oesterling said. The collection consists primarily of premium low-rise beachfront properties offering studios, one-, two-, and three-bedroom units, situated in prime destinations including beachfront and golf locations. Outrigger partnered with condominium owners to complete more than $12 million in upgrades at various resorts over the last few years. Renovations varied depending on the property, but included enhancements to public areas, landscaping, tennis courts, accommodations, telephone systems and entertainment systems. Each of the 10 locations feature amenities not found at traditional hotel/resorts including full-sized kitchens, in-room washer/dryer and larger floor plans. All units also offer microwaves, coffee makers, and televisions with VCRs. “Our research indicates that there is a growing market of travelers who prefer condominium accommodations for the value, convenience, and spaciousness,” said Oesterling, who began oversight of Outrigger’s Condominium Collection one year ago. A strict quality system has been developed for all properties in the collection. For example, each condominium resort in the collection was inspected by Outrigger and met strict quality standards before the company agreed to manage it and put the Outrigger name on it. The same is true for specific units, said the company. The Outrigger Condominium Collection consists of the following properties: Outrigger at Lae Nani on Kauai; Outrigger Kiahuna Plantation on Kauai; Outrigger Waikiki Shore on Oahu; Outrigger Palms at Wailea on Maui; Outrigger Maui Eldorado on Maui; Outrigger Napili Shores on Maui; Outrigger Royal Kahana on Maui; Outrigger Fairway Villas on Hawaii; Outrigger Royal Sea Cliff on Hawaii; and Outrigger Kanaloa at Kona on Hawaii.
