CHICAGO— Orbitz.com, the travel site founded by five leading airlines, has named customer service veteran Eliah Kahn as vice president/customer experience. In addition, Michael Sands, Orbitz vice president/marketing has been promoted to chief marketing officer. Both appointments are effective immediately. Filling a newly-created post, Kahn will be responsible for Orbitz Customer Care program and the companys expanding customer service and customer relationship management (CRM) operations. He will report to Orbitz President/CEO Jeff Katz. Kahn has more than 18 years of CRM experience, and most recently was a partner for Accentures CRM practice, where he was responsible for identifying and implementing strategies for more than 50 leading financial service clients. Meanwhile, in Sands’ new role as CMO, he will be responsible for developing and implementing all Orbitz marketing activities. He will report to Steve Hafner, vp/marketing and business development.
