NATIONAL REPORT—Residence Inn, Fairfield Inn & Suites and Best Western have opened properties, spurring growth in their portfolios.
The 139-suite Residence Inn by Marriott in Braintree, Boston is set to open today. Located at 180 Forbes Rd., the all-suite Residence Inn Boston Braintree will operate as a Marriott franchise, owned by KW Braintree LLC and managed by KW Hotel Corp. of Wayland, MA.
The hotel also features Marriott’s new MVP Guest Entertainment Technology, providing more than 40 HD channels, interactive guide, and streaming for Netflix, Hulu, YouTube, Pandora and Crackle.
Elsewhere, the 88-room Fairfield Inn & Suites Detroit Macomb has opened in Chesterfield, MI, and the 80-room Fairfield Inn & Suites Abingdon has opened in Abingdon, VA. Both properties sport bright decor, updated public spaces and a new guestroom design.
Best Western continues to evolve, welcoming two new properties in Western Australia to its hotels and resorts network. In both cases, Best Western’s global marketing reach and strong loyalty program were factors in the hotels’ decision to join, noted Steve Richards, head of commercial at Best Western Australasia.
The Best Western Plus The Ranges Karratha is located in the remote northwest Australia mining and tourism hub. It has 73 self-contained guestrooms, expansive tropical gardens, a swimming pool and restaurant. Also, located on the edge of Albany’s Central Business District, in the far south of Western Australia, is the Best Western The Clarence on Melville.
