DENVER The opening of Crested Buttes Club Med resort hotel has been delayed again, displacing hundreds of vacationers during the holiday season. On December 8, officials at the 261-room, all-inclusive hotel called guests who had reserved rooms from December 15-22 to inform them that the hotel would not be open. The latest delay is the second since it was scheduled to open on November 22. As a result of fire code concerns the hotels opening was pushed back one week, to December 22. A fire chief and a building inspector went to the Club Med hotel last week and found the building s fire-suppression system and fire dampers, which prevent a fire from spreading through the buildings ductwork, to be hazardous. Club Med chose to remain closed until the entire resort was operable. (12/12/00) Source: The Denver Post
