PHILADELPHIA- Omni Hotels will no longer be playing Award Winning XXX 2000 videos in its guestrooms as of January 3, 2001. The upscale chain is pulling the plug on adult movies at its 31 locations across the country. In addition, the Philadelphia Omni, an independently owned franchise, has decided to go along with the policy. When the local Omnis contract with its movie provider expires in January, the sexually oriented films will be yanked from the in-room entertainment offerings. The Philadelphia Omni is one of four franchises choosing to remove the movies. The decision to drop adult fare came from Robert Rowling, Omnis owner/board chairman, who bought the luxury chain of 10,000 rooms in late 1996. “As a father of two sons, I was uncomfortable with the late-night entertainment available at our hotels,” said Rowling.
