IRVING, TX— Omni Hotels has promoted Tamie Smith to director of national accounts for its national sales office here. Smiths focus will be selling and marketing the Omni Hotels portfolio to religious market accounts. Smith has more than 14 years of hospitality experience. At the Omni Corpus Christi Hotel, Smith served as front office manager, director of convention services, senior sales and director of sales. She is an active member of RCMA (Religious Conference Management Association and CMCA (Christian Meetings & Convention Association). Omni Hotels decision to focus sales efforts in religious markets is a product of the companys stand on family and corporate values. Omni Hotels received more than 50,000 positive responses for its decision to remove adult movies from inroom televisions in 1999. The company also launched a childrens program, “Omni Kids,” in 2000 along with the hotel industrys first online resource for kids, www.omnikidsrule.com.
