IRVING, TX—Omni Hotels & Resorts will purchase and operate five iconic resorts from entities affiliated with KSL Capital Partners, LLC.
The properties will be rebranded as Omni Hotels & Resorts July 1. The move signals Omni’s extension to the West Coast and the addition of other locations such as the Texas Hill Country.
The resorts are Barton Creek Resort & Spa in Austin, TX; La Costa Resort and Spa in Carlsbad, CA; Rancho La Palmas Resort & Spa in Rancho Mirage, CA; The Grove Park Inn in Asheville, NC; and The Homestead in Hot Springs, VA.
With these new acquisitions, the brand will add 2,362 rooms, 304,000 sq. ft. of meeting and event space, and 34 dining options. In addition, the locations will add 48 retail locations, 12 golf courses, and three water parks to the brand, as well as a ski facility, and five spas.
The Barton Creek Resort & Spa features four championship golf courses. Additionally, it offers a Callaway Performance Center, as well as 312 guestrooms and a full-service spa that has been recently renovated.
La Costa Resort and Spa just underwent a $50-million renovation. It features 611 guestrooms, suites, and villas. Additionally, it offers an adult-only pool, the Coastal Events Center, an expanded Athletic Club and two redesigned golf courses. The Spa at La Costa is 43,000 sq. ft. and offers a private pool, café, and reflexology path. Dining options include the Legends Bistro and BlueFire Grill restaurants.
The Rancho Las Palmas Resort & Spa features 444 guestrooms, the bluEmber restaurant, R Bar lounge, and the water playground Splashtopia. In addition to a 20,000-sq.-ft. spa, the property offers a golf course designed by Ted Robinson, a tennis center, and 41,000 sq. ft. of meeting and event space.
The Grove Park Inn is currently undergoing a $25-million restoration and renovation, with completion expected in the summer of 2013. The property features 512 guestrooms and suites, a Donald Ross golf course, and tennis and fitness center, as well as spa and convention spaces.
The Homestead will complete a $26-million renovation in summer 2013 that will see the addition of the Canyon Ranch SpaClub. The resort features 438 guestrooms and suites, 72,000 sq. ft. of meeting space, and a water attraction. Additionally, there is a downhill ski area, Equestrian Center and show ring, and Shooting Club. The property also offers the Back Country Driving School, Segway tours, and championship golf courses.
