OKLAHOMA CITY— The Oklahoma City Urban Renewal Authority is looking for a redeveloper for the historic Skirvin Hotel, which now stands vacant. The building includes 250,000 square feet of floor space, including a basement and ballroom, on a property of about 1.45 acres. The Skirvin Hotel building is 13 stories and has been vacant since financial troubles in 1988 forced closure. The city hopes to select a developer by May or June; firms have until March 31 to submit a proposal. The city is looking for a plan that will involve rehabilitation of the building as a hotel or for other, mixed uses. The city has already been contacted by several potential developers, including Boykin Hospitality, Campo Architects, Project Development Services Inc., Residence Inn founder Jack DeBoer, and developer Paul Coury of Commercial Realty Services.
