OJAI, CA—Ojai Valley Inn and Spa has earned the American Automobile Association’s Five Diamond Award for 2007, one of only 12 independent properties to be given the coveted award. The resort joins just 93 hotels and resorts nationwide and only 15 in California that have received the AAA award for their overall quality, facilities and distinctive level of service. Ojai Valley Inn and Spa is the only hotel in California to be added to the roster of Five Diamond properties this year. “It is a huge honor to be awarded the AAA Five Diamond and it is especially gratifying to be one of just 10 hotels newly added to the list this year,” said Thad Hyland, Ojai Valley Inn and Spa’s managing director. “It’s a wonderful compliment to our dedicated employees and to the work we accomplished during the recent renovations.” The 308-room resort completed a $90 million renovation this year that restored and preserved the original Wallace Neff architecture, added guestrooms, restaurants, a golf pro shop, meeting space and two new pools with luxury cabanas. Also added was a Spanish Revival-style Artist’s Cottage and Apothecary where guests attend daily art classes in a variety of mediums and blend personalized spa products. The resort also features a George C. Thomas Jr.-designed 18-hole golf course, Spa Ojai, an 800-acre ranch and stables for horseback riding and outdoor pursuits, tennis center and year-round children’s program.
