AKRON, OH- After 20 years, the franchise agreement between Hilton Hotels Corp. and Quaker Square is up, meaning the downtown Akron landmark Hilton hotel may soon operate under a new name. It has been reported that both Hilton and Crowne Plaza Hotels and Resorts are courting managers of the hotel and shopping center built from the skeleton of the Quaker Oats Co. The winner of the contract, according to Quaker Squares VP/Operations, Scott Yaeger will be the brand that best fits the companys convention-focused business plan.
