UDAIPUR, INDIA— Udaivilas, The Oberoi Groups newest luxury resort, is scheduled to open Aug. 15, 2002. Located on the banks of Lake Pichola in Udaipur, the resort is set in 30 landscaped acres, and features a view of the City Palace and two 17th-century island palaces on the lake. Accommodations range from the Kohinoor suite to deluxe rooms. Each guestroom/suite features a seating area and balcony. Marble baths with Victorian-style, free-standing tubs overlook a private, walled courtyard. The superior deluxe rooms have a semi-private, infinity-edge swimming pool off their balconies, in addition to a private relaxation and dining pavilion. Udaivilas also has two restaurants, Surya Mahal and Udai Mahal, and features The Oberoi Spa. Five meeting rooms and a boardroom round out the property.
