LOS ANGELES— Oakwood Worldwide, based here, has opened the Oakwood Residence Azabujyuban, an extended-stay property in the “Azabu-Juban Shopping Street” in Tokyo. The property offers 83 suites, decorated to Western standards, including gourmet kitchens. Each unit also features broadband Internet, flat-screen television, cable TV, and a DVD/CD/MP3 entertainment system. Oakwood Residence Azabujyuban is the first project of Oakwood Japan K.K., a joint venture formed between Oakwood Asia Pacific and Mitsui Fudosan, the largest real estate developer in Japan. Under prior agreements, Oakwood Asia Pacific already offers three other properties in Tokyo, in the neighborhoods of Akasaka, Aoyama and Shirokane. Oakwood Worldwide has locations throughout the U.S., U.K. and Asia Pacific. Its Oakwood Asia Pacific division now manages locations in Tokyo, Seoul, Manila, Bangkok and Guangzhou; with future sites under development in Beijing.
