OAK BROOK, IL—Oak Brook Hills Resort has appointed Stefan Mühle general manager.
Bringing more than 25 years’ of hospitality experience to the property, 12 of those with Portfolio Hotels & Resorts, Mühle oversees all operations at the IACC-certified convention resort, which is slated to become a Hilton-branded property this summer.
Starting on a management track at Drake Hotel in Chicago and leaving as the director of catering sales, Mühle also served at the Orchard and Orchard Garden Hotel in San Francisco, the Harvest Inn in the Napa Valley and Casa Madrona Hotel & Spa in Sausalito, CA.
During his tenure with Portfolio Hotels & Resorts’ properties, he became food and beverage director at The Bishop’s Lodge Ranch Resort & Spa. Tapped for the GM position of the Orchard Hotel in San Francisco, Mühle reportedly established the city’s first Green Seal and LEED-certified hotel. He also served as opening general manager of the sister Orchard Garden Hotel, subsequently becoming regional director of Portfolio Hotels & Resorts’ three Bay Area properties, including the Four-Diamond-rated Harvest Inn in the Napa Valley.
Oak Brook Hills Resort features 386 guestrooms, including 38 suites, 42,500 sq. ft. of meeting space and the Willow Crest Golf Club, a certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary that helps preserve and enhance wildlife habitat and protect resources.
According to the company, Mühle is placing an emphasis on establishing green, on-trend facilities, socially responsible operations and high guest and employee retention.
