NEW YORK—The Kimberly Hotel here on 50th St. recently completed a $12 million renovation of the property.
The redesign features newly remodeled suites and guestrooms, restyled lobby and additionally lays the groundwork for the Downstairs restaurant, set to open in the fall.
The lobby now features a layout that provides easier access to the front desk and an express elevator, providing quick access to Upstairs, the Kimberly’s 3,000-sq.-ft. rooftop bar. The new on-site restaurant, Downstairs, located on the lobby level is slated to open in September and will feature Italian cuisine.
All of the hotel’s 158 suites, ranging in size from 400 to 1,000 sq. ft., now feature bedrooms with king or double beds outfitted in Frette linens, expanded storage space, a separate living room with sofa bed, dining area with wet bar and bathrooms that feature Breccia and Empress marble. Ceilings range from 8- to 10-feet high and balconies showcase views of New York.
The Kimberly’s 30 new guestrooms (each approximately 230 sq.ft.) are highlighted by king or two double beds with a marble/tile bathroom and are identically equipped to suites with a microwave, coffee maker and small refrigerator. All suites and guestrooms provide free Internet access and feature touch-screen systems, allowing guests access to in-room dining, spa services, flight status, express check-out and other services.
The Kimberly Hotel also introduced a new fitness center that is open 24 hours. All machines include a personal television and are equipped with IPod capabilities.
An updated 746-sq.-ft. meeting space has flexible seating options and equipment that includes AV receivers for DVD and PC, LCD projector with motorized screen, wireless microphone, DVD player with universal remote control along with a 60-inch, plasma television and two, 42″-inch, LCD televisions.
The Kimberly Hotel is a member of WorldHotels Deluxe Collection.
