NEW YORK— The New York Marriott Marquis, located here in Times Square, plans to upgrade more than 1,900 guestrooms, and has selected New York-based BBGM/Interiors to complete the phased soft goods renovations. The update will include new headboards, bedding, carpet, wallcovering, window treatments, upholstery, lighting and artwork. In addition, the hotel’s existing fitness center will be moved from its current home on the seventh floor to the 23rd floor sky lobby, where it will span 4,000 square feet. BBGM/Interiors will handle that design move for the hotel, as well as renovate the Broadway Ballroom and the guest elevator cabs, as part of a master plan developed to help unify the hotel’s design as it moves forward with a series of capital improvements.
