LOS ANGELES NXTV, a provider of next-generation digital broadband services to the hospitality and residential markets, said that it has installed its proprietary Interactive TV system at The Peninsula Beverly Hills Hotel, initially providing high-speed Internet access to all guestrooms via Global Crossing s Worldwide IP Network.

In a joint announcement, the company also said that it has formed a strategic alliance with Philips Consumer Electronics and entered into a distribution agreement with DIRECTV. The alliance with Philips allows NXTV to focus on joint research and development initiatives. Under the agreement the Philips Smart Card television will become NXTV s preferred TV set and DIRECTV will complement NXTV s existing broadband services with its digital quality free-to-guest satellite TV programming.
