MARKHAM, ONTARIO, CANADA— Northwind, a provider of software solutions to the hospitality market, has launched a two-way interface between its Maestro Property Management Solution and Newtrade Technologies network global distribution system environment. Newtrade Technologies GDS connectivity allows Northwinds customers access to a range of online distribution channels, from direct GDS connectivity to travel portals and online travel agencies. “We are happy to have formed a relationship with Northwind since they bring a wealth of PMS knowledge, along with an advanced system, to the hotel marketplace. Customers that use Maestro PMS will now have the tools to connect seamlessly to the GDS community, as well as to e-channels. For Northwind, this translates into increased exposure of [its]own product and additional visibility to anyone using their products,” said Alan Young, vp/hotel and systems integration for Newtrade. Maestros online real-time GDS reservation engine, Maestro GDS+, will provide Maestro users the opportunity to increase their propertys room revenue and reduce labor costs within their reservation department. “We see this interface as offering a tremendous advantage to our customers in order to exploit the benefits of GDS and travel portal reservations. This will allow properties to sign up on as many GDS as they want without having to worry about room allotments, while taking complete advantage of Maestros yield management capabilities,” said Northwind president Warren Dehan.
