SEATTLE— Hospitality management company Northwest Lodging International, a subsidiary of AFM Hospitality Corp., has introduced an “Unemployment Protection Guarantee” for guests who stay at any of the 11 Ramada and Howard Johnson properties operated by the company throughout the states of Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Arizona. “If someone who stays at any hotel or inn operated by Northwest Lodging from Jan. 1 through June 30, 2002 unfortunately loses his or her job within six months after checkout, we’ll refund the cost of their stay,” explained Lawrence Horwitz, chairman/AFM Hospitality. To qualify for the refund, guests need to submit proof of their layoff or termination together with a copy of their paid invoice from the hotel, and Northwest Lodging will send a refund for the cost of their room and tax within five days. Meanwhile, Ramada and Howard Johnson hotels operated by Northwest Lodging have recently joined Cendant Corp.’s Get Going Rates program, offering special discounted room rates to encourage consumers to get back on the road.
