NEW YORK According to the Northern Ireland Tourist Board, Northern Ireland comprises some 5,000 hotel rooms, which meets the target set in 1995 to double the available hotel supply by 2000. Half of the room count is in Belfast, which has witnessed a number of openings and new developments. The 170-room Posthouse Premier opened in September following a #19 million investment. Forte Hotels is also believed to be planning a new Posthouse Hotel at Belfast International Airport. Other projects include the #15 million, 120-room Andras House Hotel by developer Diljit Rana; a #6 million investment in the Europa Hotel by the Hastings Hotel Group; and a 50-room hotel by the Dublin-based developer Michael Roden, which is part of a #15 million investment in the Cathedral Quarter.
