SANTA FE, NM— The Inn at Loretto, a Noble House Hotel here, recently opened a new 4,500 square foot spa, marking the fourth spa in the boutique brand’s portfolio and a shift towards a new brand standard. Located in five recently converted guestrooms, the new Spa Blue represents the company’s focus towards making the high-end Asian-themed facility a new brand and a new “guest amenity” at its hotels. “We want to have them in all Noble House properties,” said a spokesperson for the company. Opened in late June, the spa at Loretto features a consistent look and feel to the company’s other Spa Blue, located at the La Playa Beach & Golf Resort in Naples, FL that opened in January. Noble House’s other two spas— set at the Paradise Point Resort & Spa in San Diego and the Little Palm Island Resort & Spa in Little Torch Key, FL— will maintain their existing, individual names and themes. “We’re sticking with the names because of their loyal customer base,” the spokesperson said. Going forward, however, all new facilities will bear the Spa Blue name. The addition of the new Santa Fe spa, which brought the hotel’s total guestroom count down from 140 to 135 rooms, only took 12 weeks to complete. Converted from five existing guestrooms located in the rear of the hotel and featuring a private elevator, the space created the ideal spa setting, the spokesperson added. The hallway was large enough to accommodate a reception desk and waiting area, which includes a candlelit fireplace and traditional southwestern banco seats. The guestrooms were each converted to treatment rooms, with minimal structural changes. Only the doors had to be moved. The rooms were redecorated in warm earth tones with honey stained wood floors and terracotta-colored faux adobe walls. The Spa Blue concept, which offers a few indigenous treatments like the Desert Heat Wrap and the Native Desert Sage Massage, is designed to specialize in Indonesian and Thai rituals including Balinese massages and Javanese Lulur Royal Treatments. While the secluded Santa Fe facility offers a peaceful spa solution, next year the hotel plans to start construction on a attached structure, which will serve as the new home for the spa and possibly add additional meeting space. “If we move the spa, we’ll convert the treatment rooms back to guestrooms,” a spokesperson said. Currently, the high-end boutique hotel consists of 135 guestrooms, 12,000 square feet of meeting space, and an upscale restaurant. The hotel is located on the grounds of the Loretto Chapel within walking distance of the Santa Fe Plaza and the Palace of Governors.
