DALLAS— Nielsen/NetRatings has unveiled the nation’s Top Ten Most Visited Travel Websites for the week ended June 30, 2002. Ranking seventh was Hotels.com— the only hotel-specific site to make the list. Coming in at number one was MapQuest, followed (in order) by: Yahoo Maps, Expedia, Travelocity, Orbitz.com, AOL Travel, HOTELS.COM, Priceline, Southwest Airlines, and American Airlines Bob Diener, president of Hotels.com said, “To see this kind of customer response in such a short period of time is very exciting… In only three months since the March 25th launch, hotels.com is already producing up to 20% of our total bookings, and the majority of this is incremental business.”
