NEW YORK NH Hoteles, the Spanish-based hotel company which acquired the Dutch chain Krasnapolsky last year, is expanding its portfolio of foreign hotels with three new properties opening in Switzerland and one in Germany.
The 100-room Hotel Kolping and the 140-room Hotel Union, both located in Lucerne, were acquired last year by Krasnapolsky. The former is to undergo a limited refurbishment and will be rebranded in Spring 2002. A total of approximately $30.7 million will be spent on the two properties. Meanwhile, the 189-room Tulip Inn Geneva Airport, formerly the Movenpick Geneva Meyrin Hotel, is expected to open in summer 2001. Finally, following a $2.26 million renovation, the 200-room Golden Tulip Berlin City Centre Hotel, formerly the Ambassador Hotel Berlin, will open in Germany in Spring 2002.
