NEW YORK NH Hoteles, the Spanish hotel group that recently took out a Euro 150.25 million loan to help finance growth and restructure its debt, expects to increase its stock by at least 2,000 rooms by 2002. A five-star 200-room hotel, due to open in 2001, will be situated opposite the Puente Romano in Marbella, Spain. Meanwhile, a four-star hotel comprising 160 rooms is planned for summer 2002. NH Hoteles has also signed a contract to manage a five-star, 100-room Palacio de Oriol in Santurtzi, on the outskirts of Bilbao. Finally, NH Hoteles plans to have 30 hotels in Madrid by the end of 2002, with the opening of two new three-star hotels. NH Hoteles is investing Euro 13.2 million to lease two properties totaling 161 rooms. (12/1/00) SOURCE: HVS International
