LAGOS, NIGERIA—The 117-room Protea Hotel Select Ikeja has opened here, in the suburb of Ikeja.
Amenities include a restaurant, bar and conference facilities, including one conference room seating a maximum of 50 people and one small private boardroom seating a maximum of six delegates. The hotel features 75 rooms, eight inter-leading twin bedrooms, 24 deluxe rooms, eight suites with an open plan lounge and dining rooms separate from the bedrooms, and two universal accessible rooms. Each guestroom offers an en-suite bathroom, mini-bar fridge, satellite TV, workstation and tea/coffee-making facilities.
The hotel’s public area features earth-toned decor in sleek, modern lines, echoed in the bedrooms as well, which feature a neutral palette with warm colors.
The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner and focuses on local and continental cuisine, according to the company. The bar is open 24 hours a day offering a poolside menu. Room service is also available 24/7. Additional amenities include a shuttle service, laundry service and complimentary WiFi access.
Protea Hotels Director of Sales, Marketing and Revenue Danny Bryer stated, “Nigeria is Africa’s largest economy with numerous industries supporting ongoing economic expansion. We consider Nigeria to be one of our most important development markets and we’d like to at least double the number of Protea Hotels there in the next five years.”
The company has five additional hotels in the pipeline, including: a 155-room African Pride Avalon Hotel & Spa (2015); 150-room Lagos Marriott Hotel, Victoria Island (2016); 250-room Courtyard by Marriott Abuja (2018); 100-unit Marriott Executive Apartments Abuja (2018); and 250-room Lagos Marriott Hotel, Ikeja GRA (2018).
