As we begin 2015, and what is expected to be a healthy year for the hotel industry with expansion, progress and innovation as key catalysts for growth, Hotel Business is right on board with that momentum, bringing you, with this issue, our own updated product.
As you’ll surely agree, a remodel is crucial to improving image and maintaining brand loyalty—you know, freshening things up and applying current, even forward-thinking, elements to create new standards—and magazines are no exception to that rule.
Hotel Business recently relaunched its website—archive.hotelbusiness.com—and upgraded its digital offerings, and the start of 2015 became just the right time to unveil a print redesign—something we’ve all been working on for the better part of a year.
But while we’ve certainly taken a fresh approach to the editorial content and visual presentation of the publication, it’s still the Hotel Business you rely on for news, industry happenings and analysis. That hasn’t changed. However, with some fine-tuning, both graphically and editorially, I hope you’ll love it even more.
Of course, the first element you might notice is the redesigned logo, but there’s so much more. In revamping the look and feel of the entire magazine—notice the clean lines and reader-friendly format—it gave us the opportunity to refresh the editorial lineup as well. To tweak some of the departments we already cover and to expand the coverage to include topics that are reflective of the changes and growth in the industry. For example, you can expect to see regular articles on technology, markets to watch, international development, hotel operations, sustainability, health and wellness, business and leisure, guest services, policies and procedures, and branding—among others. We’re also opening up the dialogue and including an opinion piece. Your voice, after all, is important, too.
Which leads me to this: Peruse the issue. Read it. Digest it. And drop me a line about the new format. We’re excited to present our vision to you and even more excited to know what you think. You can email me at [email protected]. And don’t forget to follow us on Twitter @hotelbusiness.
