SANTA BARBARA, CA— Three new wine programs are available to guests at Bacara Resort & Spa here. The programs include evening wine tastings in Miro Cellar, monthly Winemaker dinners and complimentary wine-tastings at participating local vineyards. “Our new wine programs are designed to connect our guests with local vintners on a personal level,” said Gillian Ballance, Bacaras sommelier. “We wanted to provide a way for people to experience the flavors of this unique viticultural region, learn about the local wineries and understand the benefits of all good things in moderation.” The wine tastings in Miro Cellar will start May 24 and will be hosted by a local winemaker. The complimentary tasting will showcase a selection of wines accompanied by commentary from the winemaker. Light hors doeuvres will be served to enhance the characteristics of the wines sampled. The Winemaker dinners begin May 30 and will be held each month. Beginning with a 7 p.m. reception, the evening will feature a local winemaker who will co-host a four-course dinner in Miro Cellar for up to 35 guests. The series will be launched with winemaker Roger Wisted of the Blackjack Ranch Winery. The complimentary wine-tastings at local vineyards began May 1. Upon presentation of a Bacara room key, guests are able to enjoy tastings at Blackjack Ranch, Rusack Vineyard and Winery, Foley Estates and Buttonwood Farms Winery. Participants have the opportunity to sample new wine releases as well as past vintages at these Santa Barbara County wineries. The independently owned and operated Bacara Resort & Spa has 311 guestrooms and suites, each with a private balcony or patio with ocean, garden or mountain views. The resort has a 42,000-square-foot spa and fitness facility offering a variety of treatments and services, and 25,500 square feet of meeting space.
