PALM SPRINGS, CA— There are two new timeshare projects on the drawing board in Palms Springs, according to a report in The Desert Sun . A 76-unit timeshare development is planned near the Marquis Resort on Indian Canyon Drive. The resort will be refurbished and reopened in December by its new owners after being closed for nearly three years, according to The Desert Sun . USA Capital is slated to start construction later this year on the timeshare development, which will be built on vacant land just east of the Marquis Resort, the report said. Palm Springs officials have reportedly approved plans for the new timeshare project, which will have a swimming pool, spa and underground parking. Units are expected to be ready for occupancy in early 2005. The other timeshare development is planned by Florida-based Fairfield Resorts Inc., according to The Desert Sun . That project will be a 254-unit vacation timeshare development on South Palm Canyon Drive. Another timeshare development is going up elsewhere in the Coachella Valley, according to the report. Trendwest Resorts Inc. is building WorldMark Indio, a 454-unit timeshare resort within the Landmark Golf Club in Indio, the report said.
