BOSTON— The new Onyx Hotel has added key staff members to the property. Industry veteran Mark Fischer has been named general manager of the Kimpton property located here. In addition, Tracie Gunning has been appointed director of sales for the hotel, which opens in the downtown district on May 17. Fischer will have overall responsibility for the 112-room, boutique hotel. He brings twelve years of experience to the Onyx from various hotels across the country. Fischer previously served as rooms division manager for The Royalton Hotel in New York City and held the same position at the 77-room, luxury boutique property Chambers Hotel there. Gunning will oversee all sales efforts and staff to maximize top-line revenue for the boutique hotel. She previously served as director of sales and marketing for the 131-room Harbor Court Hotel, a Kimpton property located in San Francisco.
