ORLANDO– HOTEL BUSINESS has learned that the Philips Hotel Group, owners of New York’s Bryant Park hotel, plan to open its newest property, The Shore Club Miami, within the next week. The new hotel will be equipped with General Dynamics Intrigue Multimedia System, an interactive TV program that is already installed at the hotel group’s Bryant Park property, according to a spokesperson for General Dynamics. The TV system will be customized for the property and will feature a wireless keyboard that controls the high-speed Internet access, video on demand, online shopping, hotel folio information, express check-out, video games, and local information. Laptops can also be hooked-up to the television via a single cable, to receive the system’s high-speed internet connectivity. “We provide the whole system from design, to installation, to servicing,” said a spokesperson. In addition to the two U.S. properties, General Dynamics is also installing its Intrigue system into 40 Norwegian hotels; three of the implementations are already complete, said Kathleen Brazil, director of business development for General Dynamics. –Diana M.
