VIRGIN GORDA, BRITISH VIRGIN ISLANDS— Little Dix Bay, a 98-room resort here, recently inaugurated a new meeting room with local design elements and original Caribbean artwork reflective of the island. Named the Mahogany Room, the 500-square-foot room includes an LCD projector with DVD, high-speed Internet connection, and a motorized screen with ceiling storage. An internal sound system is available with hook-ups to either a computer or a CD player and an on-site IT professional is available at all times. The room offers seating for 14 at a large conference table, or seating for eight at two smaller tables. The décor features a variety of woods including native mahogany (table and entry doors), teak (Venetian blinds), purple heart (window frames), crushed bamboo (wainscot), and woven banana bark (ceiling). Chairs are high-backed wicker with oversized cushions. The room has two woven natural rattan and teak credenzas. The artwork includes local scenes of seagrape and palms, and customized glass starfish sconces. A private outdoor foyer directly off the meeting area is suitable for gatherings or breaks. Little Dix Bay is managed by Rosewood Hotels & Resorts.
