WASHINGTON, DC— Marriott International— in conjunction with Amadeus and Sabre— has introduced a new, higher level of connectivity designed to provide greater accuracy of rate and availability data presented to users of the two systems via a “seamless” hotel-shopping process. Through both the Amadeus (via Dynamic Access) and Sabre (via Direct Connect Shop) global distribution systems, Marriott is reportedly set up to provide travel agents with availability and pricing for multiple hotels during the shopping process directly from the hotel company’s central reservations system. According to Marriott sources, this move will bring travel agents up-to-the-moment rates and availability, thereby providing access to the same information used by Marriott reservations agents and Marriott.com users worldwide.
