NEW YORK— The June 19 issue of the New York Post reported that a hotel investor has bought several land parcels making up the northwest corner of Broadway and 54th Street for $32 million. The Post said the land was purchased by the Gross family, which owns the Courtyard By Marriott at 40th Street and Sixth Avenue. While reports are that the family wants to build another Marriott-branded hotel, it’s unclear which flag they would raise. “They could also create a Residence Inn, perhaps even the new upscale concept Marriott is creating with Bulgari,” said the Post. The site is located close to the new Random House office building being built by the Related Cos. SOURCE: The New York Post
