SCOTTSDALE, AZ— HOTEL BUSINESS® has learned a new luxury resort/residential community project is in the final stages of design and development on a large parcel of land here, which borders the canyons. DMB, a real estate development company based here, is building the luxury residential community, which will include a unique resort concept. Approximately 45 villas will anchor the resort, each with its own swimming pool and private natural surroundings. In addition, a restaurant, which will be open to the public, and spa, which will be open to resort guests only, will be offered. The project is expected to open in 2003, and will be partially owned by famed resort owner/operator Dick Holtzman, who likened the property to the renowned Boulders Resort. —Shannon McMullen
