LOS ANGELES A partnership called New World LLC plans to build a new mega-casino on 77 acres next to Las Vegas McCarran Airport, according to published reports and people familiar with the project. The resort, which will reportedly include four stack-shaped structures, will be 425-feet tall.

New World said the resort would include a convention center and fine arts facility in addition to the hotel and casino. The project will likely cost between $500 million and $1 billion. (1/3/01)
