NASHVILLE, TN— Lodging and hospitality management specialists Dave Jones, Glenn Malone, Larry Welch and Scott Fultz have combined to form Senate Hospitality Group here, a hotel and resort management company. The new entity was created to serve mid-size to large hotels with specialization in development and management of properties able to accommodate large conventions, meetings and conferences. According to Jones, who serves as president/CEO, the new company will operate in four principal areas of lodging and hospitality management: • Hotel operations, via business-management agreements for hotels and resort properties owned by third-party owners; • Acquisition of hotels (that Senate Hospitality Group will own and manage); • Development of hotels and resorts with significant convention, meeting and conference facilities; and • Asset-management and consulting service for hotel owners, particularly those seeking repositioning strategies and help with their operations. The principals of Senate Hospitality Group managed the recent $80-million renovation of the 2,800-room Opryland Hotel Nashville, as well as the expansion program of Opryland convention hotels into the Orlando, FL and Grapevine, TX markets. Each of the Senate principals also served in senior management capacities with John Q. Hammons Hotels.
