ST. AUGUSTINE, FL— Six Continents Hotels today opened its new 121-room Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites prototype here, the second full-service hotel to be built in the city’s historic district. The property is owned by Anil Valbh and managed by Avista Management, Inc. According to Greg Price, vp-marketing, Holiday Inn Hotels and Resorts, “As the second Holiday Inn, development in this area is important in strengthening Holiday Inns portfolio and establishing a strong presence in a prime tourist location.” The $9.8 million, 65,000-square-foot hotel is located near local tourist attractions, such as Castillo De San Marco, the Spanish Quarters Museum, “Ripleys Believe It Or Not” and the Potters Wax Museum. The prototype hotel features wireless reservations and in-room check-in technology, “Innbassadors” responsible for greeting guests, doorless shower stalls in suites and king-bedded rooms, 24-hour business center, meeting space, fitness center with state-of-the-art cardiovascular and strength training equipment, indoor pool, and indoor and outdoor whirlpool. James Hunt is general manager of the property, which is located at 1302 Ponce de Leon.
