Eatery Planned for Manhattan West Complex
Brookfield Properties and C3, a subsidiary of global lifestyle and hospitality company sbe, has plans for a new culinary destination at Manhattan West, the eight-acre complex Brookfield is developing on Manhattan’s Far West Side. Named Citizens, C3’s new concept will bring together a curated collection of established and new proprietary culinary brands at two full-service restaurants, multiple bars and a fast-casual market hall. The 40,000-sq.-ft. venue, located in Five Manhattan West, will be designed by interior designer David Rockwell.
Sling Bar Opens in Como Metropolitan Miami Beach Hotel
Sling Bar, a night market cocktail bar is now open at Traymore by Michael Schwartz in the Como Metropolitan Miami Beach. Conceptualized by The Genuine Hospitality Group led by Chef Michael Schwartz, cocktails and bar snacks are inspired by the many flavors of Singapore, highlighting food cultures of Southeast Asia.
DiamondRock to Bring Toro Latin Kitchen & Lounge to JW Marriott
DiamondRock Hospitality has teamed with Richard Sandoval Hospitality, led by Chef Richard Sandoval, to open Pan Latin and Asian fusion concept, Toro Latin Kitchen & Lounge, in Denver at the JW Marriott Denver Cherry Creek in spring 2020. Toro is a play on words, as it translates to “tuna” in Japanese and “bull” in Spanish. The restaurant’s menu celebrates the flavors and dining culture of Central and South America, blending Pan Latin and Asian flavors into small plates. Toro Latin Bar & Kitchen Cherry Creek will have menu items unique to the location, including a ceviche bar.
The Galt House Hotel Debuts Walker’s Exchange Restaurant
Walker’s Exchange is now open in The Galt House Hotel in Louisville, KY. The new Walker’s Exchange is just one component of the Galt House’s multi-year, $80-million renovation that will touch nearly every corner of the property. Walker’s Exchange pays homage to Louisville’s early days as a port city and is named for a restaurant that opened in the same site nearly 200 years ago. The restaurant will have a Kentucky brasserie-style menu of American and French dishes with a homegrown, locally sourced, Bluegrass-state twist.
Seaside Provisions Opens at North Vancouver Hotel
North Vancouver’s boutique luxury Seaside Hotel has opened Seaside Provisions. Both are in The Shipyards District of Lower Lonsdale (Lolo)—North Vancouver’s historic arts and dining neighborhood. The design blurs the lines between restaurant, bar and lounge to create a holistic dining experience in a style-infused space, referred to as The Living Room, with locally sourced coastal small plates and bespoke cocktails in a space with curated art and photography.
Resort Restaurant in Mexico Undergoes Refresh
Seadust Cancun Family Resort in Cancun, Mexico is celebrating the reopening of the refurbished El Maguey Restaurant. The Mexican restaurant has a new and wider bar serving classic beverages and cocktails, and an even more elevated traditional experience with sleek Mexican furniture and atmosphere for the entire family. The revamp at El Maguey Restaurant was completed this fall, in preparation for the busy holiday season at the resort.
Gerrard Street Kitchen Opens at The Darcy Hotel in London
With a nod to London’s eclectic West End neighborhood, The Darcy Hotel has opened Gerrard Street Kitchen. Orchestrated by Executive Chef Jaime Velasquez, Gerrard Street Kitchen’s menu has a curated blend of global cuisines where the complex flavors of Japan, Morocco, and South Asia sit side by side with British and Indian culinary fare.
The Grill at The Dorchester Reopens in London
Culinary institution The Grill at The Dorchester has reopened its doors to a new chapter in the restaurant’s 88-year history. Head chef Tom Booton presents his interpretation of a modern-day British grill, with an interior refresh and vibrant atmosphere to match. Offering a more relaxed approach to the dining experience, the dining room now has a statement Pudding Bar, intimate banquette seating and a new cocktail concept: The Grill Bar at The Dorchester.
The Apurva Kempinski Bali Gives Guests Aquarium Dining Experience
