NEW YORK— Swissôtel New York – The Drake has a new bedding package that meshes well with its upscale location at the corner of Park Avenue and 56th Street here. The European-styled Swissôtel New York wanted to convey an elegant yet comfortable image with the bedding in its 495 guestrooms, according to Maureen O’Brien, director/sales and marketing. “We want our guests to feel this is their home away from home with an additional feel of luxury,” O’Brien said. The new bedding package is unique, according to O’Brien who noted: “All beds pamper our guests with a white Riga duvet coverlet made with 100% Egyptian cotton. “Although all Swissôtels strive to go beyond the brand standard, this bedding concept surpasses the standard,” O’Brien added. The bedding ensemble includes Fili D’oro brand sheets; a white satin-banded Riga duvet coverlet made with 100% Egyptian cotton; a box-stitched duvet; and a king-size bed which has five down pillows with satin-banded Egyptian cotton pillowcases. While declining to give the cost of the bedding package, O’Brien said, “The new concept will surely provide the ultimate in comfort to all Swissôtel New York – The Drake guests.” “Our guest feedback has been wonderful,” she added. The bedding package is not currently retailed to guests, “but [we]would be happy to make the items available to any guests requesting specific items,” O’Brien said. The hotel’s guestrooms also feature amenities that cater to the business traveler including two-line phones with voicemail and call waiting; high-speed Internet connections; oversized desks and work areas; dataports at desk level; fax machines; coffeemakers; and safes.
