RENO, NV— The state of the travel industry and its outlook for the future will be among topics explored at the 19th Annual Governors Conference on Tourism here Dec. 9-11. According to Lt. Gov. Lorraine Hunt, “Tourism is Nevadas number-one economic engine and it benefits everyone directly or indirectly. This years Governors Conference will examine the current state of the travel industry, its outlook for the future, and new ways to market tourism attractions.” As lieutenant governor, Hunt chairs the Nevada Commission on Tourism, which produces the conference. William Norman, president/CEO of the Travel Industry Association of America, will address the conference on the state of travel Dec. 10. Following Normans keynote address, Peter Sealy, founder/CEO of Los Altos Group management consultants, will examine the future of tourism. The conference, which draws about 1,000 delegates, will be at the Atlantis Casino Resort and the newly expanded Reno/Sparks Convention Center next door. Both are near Reno/Tahoe International Airport and less than an hour from Lake Tahoe.
