WASHINGTON Mayor Anthony Williams is expected to issue an RFP to all interested parties regarding the opportunity to develop a mega convention hotel in the area immediately surrounding the city s new convention center slated to open March 2003.

Washington DC Convention & Visitors Association VP convention sales Thom Puccio confirmed that earlier plans to expand the existing Renaissance Washington Hotel DC at Ninth Street NW by some 600 rooms at Seventh and Eye Streets have fallen through. (1/31/01) Michael Billig
