NANTUCKET, MA— Nantucket’s first three-story mansion, the legendary Jared Coffin House, has been purchased by Nantucket Island Resorts for $11 million. The inn, located at 29 Broad St. in the historic district, will be open year-round and joins Nantucket Island Resorts’ portfolio of luxury properties on Nantucket that includes The Wowing (a Relays & Chateaux inn), the White Elephant, Harbor House Village, The Cottages at the Boat Basin, plus the Nantucket Boat Basin the inn is a collection of landmark buildings from the mid-1800s. . “Because of its impressive history and meaning to Nantucket, the inn will always be a special place to stay. Although it is too early to comment on any renovations, we will respect its traditions,” said Michel Decamp, managing director/Nantucket Island Resorts. the Jared Coffin House, named for a prominent 19th century ship owner, consists of 60 guest rooms in six historic buildings.
